Intro to Songwriting
Like to make up your own melodies or write poetry? Whether you play an instrument or not, come join this class made for beginning songwriters ages 13 - 18. Designed to increase confidence and encourage personal expression, this group class teaches students of all ability levels proper vocal technique, songwriting and performance skills. Students will learn about great masters of songwriting, like Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen, how to craft artistic and meaningful songs. A final class performance will feature the songwriters’ work. Bring your instrument if you play one, but it is not required.
The class will be taught by jazz singer and songwriter, Ashley Daneman. Ms. Daneman has a Master of Music degree in vocal jazz performance from Manhattan School of Music and has been teaching privately for over 10 years. She is also a professional singer/songwriter and performing artist.

**Partial need-based scholarship may be offered to those who arrange an audition for consideration.
